Is Karate Right For You?
Deciding on a Martial Arts school is an important decision and a personal commitment. You may be concerned about long-term contracts, personality of the school, a class schedule that meet’s your needs and even if you or your children will fit in.
Many schools require you to sign a 1-2 year contract with a large financial commitment. At Montoya’s Kempo, there are no contracts or hidden costs.
Kids thrive in the Karate environment. The self image, self confidence, self discipline and self control your child develops today will determine the level of happiness and success he or she will experience as an adult. Science has proven that authentic Karate can aid you or your child in developing the qualities they need to be successful and more. This leads to a healthier, happier and more successful life.
True Karate training also gives children and teenagers something gravely needed in today's world - the strength to say "no" to negative and potentially harmful peer pressure, and to replace the negatives with positives in thoughts, words and deeds. Our young students become the leaders of their peer groups, not complacent followers who do "whatever" just to fit in. Karate offers your child benefits which are critically needed in today's world.
Karate Can Truly Change Your Life.
Authentic Karate is an exciting, unique and multifaceted art. A blend of physical, mental and spiritual elements, it offers life changing benefits not found in any other activity.

Our Classes

Students will first learn the basic stances, blocks, strikes, and kicks that serve as a foundation for their karate training. Traditional empty-hand Okinawan kata and Chinese forms are used to reinforce these principles. Self-defense instruction prepares the student to use release and control maneuvers against chokes and and hair grabs. Sparring with fellow students and instructors allows exploration of appropriate reactions to these and other attacks under more true-to-life conditions. Arnis instruction begins in these classes, with basic strikes, disarms, and control techniques.

Students will be further instructed in empty-hand release tactics but training will concentrate on submission and control maneuvers. Self- defense instruction continues to provide training against grabs and students will begin to learn release maneuvers for knife, club, and gun assaults. Arnis instruction continues to focus on disarm and control techniques and students will begin training with traditional weapons.
